The Altore is a fascinating bird, considered to be Corsica's largest eagle. Its size and majestic plumage make it easily recognizable and have made it a true emblem of the island. A treasure trove of biodiversity, Corsica boasts an incredible diversity of landscapes and animal species. It has been a land of welcome and refuge for many endangered birds, such as the Altore. To pay tribute to this sublime animal, Maria has designed a unique earring in 18-carat gold featuring its effigy. The eagle's wings are paved with a long cascade of diamonds, and the eye is sublimated with a ruby or emerald.

MARIA BATTAGLIA's vision

The MARIA BATTAGLIA brand draws its inspiration from its Corsican origins. Her creations are an ode to the Mediterranean island, its thriving nature and its mystique.

« A collection inspired by Corsica.»

In the MARIA BATTAGLIA collection, elements borrowed from Corsica's natural landscapes are recurring motifs. These include the chestnut leaf, a Castagniccia tree, the Immortelle flower, endemic to Corsica, the Bonifacio coral and the Altore, the eagle that has made the island its sanctuary.
